HOLLYWOOD MUSIC. JOHN WILLIAMS

John Williams is one of the main composers of the dream factory; his credentials include 49 Oscar nominations, the Golden Globe, Emmy, Grammy and BAFTA awards. He is the author of the music for the first three films of the Harry Potter saga and the most successful film adaptation, The Prisoner of Azkaban, as well as the legendary comedy Home Alone, Memoirs of a Geisha.

John Williams is a long-time partner in the production of film hits for such famous directors as George Lucas and Steven Spielberg. The composer wrote soundtrack for Lucas’s main blockbuster film, Star Wars. And in the distant 1970s, when Spielberg just started his directorial career, Williams wrote music for his Jaws, for which, by the way, he later received an Oscar. Other Spielberg’s films using Williams’ themes include Alien, Jurassic Park, Saving Private Ryan, Catch Me if You Can, Lincoln and, of course, Schindler's List.

Together the so-called golden trinity, Lucas-Williams-Spielberg, created the Indiana Jones saga, where Spielberg was a director, Lucas was producer, and John Williams was the author of music, for which he was awarded another Oscar.

Concerts of John Williams’ works are always well-attended and have full houses, being shown at stadiums with the capacity of thousands. Musicians of the symphony orchestra of the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus at the invitation of maestro Wilhelm Keitel have participated several times in European tours where they performed the music of virtuosos of cinematic music Hans Zimmer and John Williams. The programme comprised melodies and themes from such blockbusters as The Dark Knight, Madagascar, Pirates of the Caribbean, Star Wars, Harry Potter, Jurassic Park, Indiana Jones, Schindler's List, etc.

On 30 June, admirers of symphonic music will hear themes from the films: Star Wars, Harry Potter, Jurassic Park, Indiana Jones, Schindler's List. The concert will be conducted by Wilhelm Keitel.
