On 15 January, in honour of Tatyana Shemetovets, who celebrated her jubilee on 1January, two one-act ballets Carmina Burana and Carmen Suite will take place on our stage.

Tatyana joined the ballet company of the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus in 1979 and danced until 2005. It's a long time for ballet dancers! But her admirers still regret that Tatyana left the stage so early – they miss her character roles, which she performed so vividly and masterful.  At present she’s the manager of the ballet company and a ballet répétiteur of the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus. But the light that she emitted performing on stage has not disappeared - now her talent helps to reveal the undoubted potential of new ballet stars.

‘Carmina Burana and Carmen Suite are my favorite ballets.’- Shemetovets said. Carmina Burana was staged specially for Tatyana, she became the first performer of the role of Harlot. And immediately the name Shemetovets sounded. With this role, the ballerina has funny memories. ‘Carmen Suite is an amazing Elizariev’s ballet. So harmoniously thought, idea, choreography and incredible beauty of Bizet and Shchedrin’s music are combined here. Everything is brought to the highest point, to the very peak…’
