ПАРТНЕРЫ ПРОЕКТА
13 shows withinn 3 days! From 20 to 22 June, almost all the ensembles of the theatre are going to Nesvizh to give the audience a real holiday. After all, this will be the 15th edition of the festival: eight different concerts in the Theatre Hall of the palace, one in the Church of Corpus Domini. Two fabulous ballets, namely The Firebird by Igor Stravinsky and Scheherazade to the music by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov, will open the Evenings of the Bolshoi Theatre at the Radziwill Castle. The premiere of this season, Pyotr Tchaikovsky's opera Eugene Onegin staged by Anna Motornaya, will continue the festival on the main site of the castle – in the courtyard. An enchanting gala concert of opera and ballet stars, produced by Oksana Volkova, will be the final point of the celebration.
On Friday, 20 June, at 16:00, the audience will be able to enjoy classical music in the Theatre Hall of the Palace. The festival opens with the concert "Inspiration of the Heart" performed by Vivat-Quartet, the string quartet of the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus. The exquisite chamber and instrumental programme was specially prepared for the 10th anniversary of the band. Shostakovich, Handel, Bach, Tchaikovsky, Gurvitch and Franck – this seemingly colourful picture has its logic: the sounds of the violin duet and the piano will be the first sounds of the festival, and then the listeners will gradually immerse themselves in an increasingly saturated musical space and witness the "gathering" of the entire ensemble (from the chamber duet to the full quintet, with the participation of permanent companions of the quartet). It is worth noting that that the concert programme includes a large-scale premiere in the repertoire of the ensemble, namely César Franck's Piano Quintet, a work that has been performed by the most outstanding musicians for its century and a half, a masterpiece that requires special understanding, skill and artistic maturity. “The Inspiration of the Heart” will be presented to the guests of Nesvizh by Vivat-Quartet (directed by Irina Maslava), which includes Anita Malugina (violin), Irina Maslava (violin), Yury Bashura (viola), Aliaksandr Ivanou (cello), Honoured Artist of the Republic of Belarus Yuliya Shcherbakova (piano), and Pavel Burtsev (trumpet). The concert is staged by Maria Isaeva.
Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov’s piece will be performed in the Theatre Hall at 19:00. The opera Mozart and Salieri, directed by Oleg Melnikov, will be presented on this stage for the first time. Mozart and Salieri… The plot of the opera is based on the legend of the poisoning of the radiant and brilliant Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart by the envious Antonio Salieri. The truth of art defeated the truth of life. After all, since Pushkin's "little tragedy" appeared, no one believes in Salieri's innocence anymore. "The most terrible human feeling is envy, and there is nothing more terrible than it. It generates everything, even the most terrible things… This is exactly what we see in this ingenious creation, where events take place almost on the same day. Within one day, the whole human life passes in front of the audience," Oleg Melnikov states. The performance will be conducted by Yuri Karavaev.
On Friday evening, 20 June, at 21:00, two fairy-tale stories told in the language of dance will come to life in the Courtyard of Nesvizh Castle. From the scorching colour of the Firebird's plumage to the lights of one of the thousand nights of the captivating East – it is an evening of Michel Fokine’s choreography, the ballet The Firebird by Igor Stravinsky and Scheherazade to the music by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov (staged by the People's Artist of Russia Andris Liepa). The opening night of the festival will be conducted by Maestro Vladimir Ovodok.
The second day of the festival, 21 June, Saturday, will start at 12:00 with the concert "From Classical Music to Jazz" in the Theatre Hall. A special mood will be set by the outstanding musicians of the orchestra – the Quartet of Flutes of the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus (Larisa Lasotskaya, Natalia Murzina, Alina Kanaplianik, Artsiom Nemirsky), as well as Irina Butel (piano) and Mikhail Kanstantsinau (percussion). The concert is directed by Natalia Kuzmenkova.
On 21 June, at 14:00, the stage of the Theatre Hall will be given over to the power of enchanting waltz music. "I am sure that the programme "I Recall the Charming Sound of Waltz...", which was named after a famous line from Nikolai Listov’s famous romance, will not disappoint, but will only charm the audience," the Honoured Artist of the Republic of Belarus, head of the string quintet Serenada Tatiana Tretiak says. "The evening will bring pleasure not only to admirers of popular music, but also to connoisseurs of exquisite music..."
The evening promises to be diverse: from old Russian art songs ("My Darling", "Chrysanthemums Bloomed Again", "Broken Strings", "Chrysanthemums Have Faded", "Street, Street"), the artists will move to to the modern era, soulful waltzes by Michel Legrand and Nino Rota, as well as waltzes from favourite movies, such as Beware of the Car, The Long Recess, Bride with a Dowry, Days of the Turbins, Petersburg Secrets. The concert will feature the string quintet Serenada (Genrikh Matskevitch (violin), Alena Makutsa (violin), Siarhei Tretsiak (viola), Dzianis Makarevich (cello), Pavel Priemka (double bass); opera soloists Tatiana Tretiak, Oksana Yakushevich, Alexander Mikhniuk and Alexander Krasnodubsky, as well as ballet dancers. About 200 years have passed since the novel in verse was written, and 146 years since the first performance of the opera... But this work of two geniuses – Pushkin and Tchaikovsky – is still topical and modern... On Saturday evening (19:30), the premiere of the current season, Tchaikovsky’s opera Eugene Onegin staged by the principal director Anna Motornaya, will be presented on the main stage of Nesvizh Castle. It will be conducted by Vitali Hryshchanka. "The Larin Society is around us. Only the costumes have changed, but the meaning remains. In my opinion, Pushkin and Tchaikovsky created an absolutely brilliant work. Sometimes I hear that today children do not read the classics. So, we must make sure that they do. We did not create this production for the older generation. The audience aged over 40 will definitely come, but our task today is to attract young people to the theatre. Eugene Onegin is a masterpiece, and we have no right to spoil it, but we must make it understandable and moving. It is inherent in the traditions of Russian culture. It has a special intonation, images that always grab, hook and hold the audience until the end...", the principal director of the Bolshoi Theatre Anna Motornaya says.
